Q: What is LA PTAC?
|
A: The Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center, funded by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and the U.S. Department of Defense provides Louisiana businesses with the marketing know-how and technical tools they need to obtain and perform successfully under federal, state and local government contracts with the mission to create and maintain jobs, foster competition and low costs for the government, and help sustain our armed forces' readiness.

A: LA PTAC has helped Louisiana businesses secure more than $2.5 billion in government contract awards since it was funded in 1989.

Q: What can LA PTAC do for me?
|
A: Trained procurement counselors can help you determine if you can successfully compete in the government marketplace by evaluating your capabilities and identifying potential buying agencies for your products and services. Counselors provide an overview of the government contracting process and will help you identify government small business programs where your company may qualify. Your company will be entered into an electronic bid matching database. Counselors will help you review the bid notices you receive and help you determine on which notices to bid. As you work through the marketing, bidding, negotiation, and contract administration processes, LA PTAC counselors are just a phone call or e-mail away to answer any questions you may have.

Q: Is there any cost for LA PTAC services?

A: There is no charge for LA PTAC services. However, each quarter, clients are required to complete, sign and return a Contract Award Form. Clients are also asked to complete and return an annual Client Satisfaction Survey.
