Over the years International Mezzo Technologies, Inc. has attracted millions of dollars in federal, state and industrial support for Research and Development in new micro-manufacturing technology. With more than $1,400,000 awarded to date in contracts with the United States Navy, United States Missile Defense Agency, Air Force Research Laboratory, Naval Air Warfare Center and Office of Naval Research, International Mezzo Technologies has enjoyed a successful relationship with LA PTAC.

Recently, our client contacted PTAC when he needed assistance in completing SF 1034 and SF 1035(Public Voucher Invoice) for Office of Naval Research. PTAC researched forms online, contacted the Office of Naval Research contracting officer, and sought advice and guidance from PTAC Program Manager. PTAC was able to assist client with completing Public Voucher Invoice blank by blank. PTAC suggested and client was able to get buy-in from contracting office to review draft copy of invoice prior to formal submittal. Client reported Office of Naval Research contract totaling $448,318.

IPS supplies bearings, valves, tubes, hoses, pumps’ instrumentation, and electrical components to name a few.

With the assistance of LA PTAC, IPS, Inc. was awarded a $3.1 million contract from Defense Supply Center Columbus. IPS has also been awarded contracts with Defense Supply Centers Richmond and Philadelphia, TACOM, US Army Corps of Engineers and the Peterson Air Force Base. IPS, a long-standing client of LA PTAC, is regularly involved in government contracting and often turns to us for assistance and back-up.

Materials Management Group- An 8(a) certified environmental engineering company

The award of a Department of Defense mentor-protégé relationship with a large defense contractor (Washington Group International), meant a value in excess of $3 million for our client, Materials Management Group (MMG). In addition, MMG gained national recognition with the Nunn-Perry Award from the Defense Department in Washington, D.C. Thirteen groups were recognized with MMG the only Louisiana firm among them. Since this mentor-protégé' relationship began, MMG has increased their gross revenue by 50%.

Southern Services & Equipment, Inc.Custom metal fabrication, welding and machine shop services

The Southern Services & Equipment, Inc., sought the assistance of the New Orleans PTAC in preparation of their proposal, pricing and negotiation to a contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for maintenance and repair of 3 diesel engines at Pointe Coupee Pumping Station. In June 2004, the client was awarded a $200,000 contract. The New Orleans PTAC contribution to the success story and tangible results includes 6 new jobs and the retention of 3 others.

Sunset Marine, LLC An 8(a) certified
Kenner, LA

Sunset Marine, LLC recognized a niche market in the dredging business and with LA PTAC - New Orleans assistance, created a plan to fill that need.

PERSERVERANCE! Sunset Marine, LLC does not understand the concept of the word NO. In fact, I doubt if it is even part of the firm?s language. Captain Maurice had a vision for his small dredging company and approached the New Orleans District Corps of Engineers about a dredging contract in November 1999. He presented a very ambitious plan that sounded good, but was questionable if it could be accomplished. The dredging industry has very few small business dredges and even more unique is that Sunset Marine, LLC is a Section 8(a) firm. The rules for dredging are very restrictive. Captain Maurice studied the rules and found ways to overcome. He put together a team that was satisfactory. After several years of different approaches and with the assistance of the LA PTAC - New Orleans, Sunset Marine was awarded an IDIQ contract that has as a maximum order limitation $3 million dollars. Why was this Veteran-owned, Section 8(a) contractor successful - he was persistent.

The New Orleans PTAC rendered assistance in the areas of Marketing, Contracting Rules and Regulations, Pricing and Negotiations.


X-TECHS, Ltd., a client of New Orleans PTAC was awarded a multi-year contract by the VA Medical Center in excess of $1,000,000. The PTAC Counselor assisted the client in reviewing the solicitation, offering guidance, and suggestions for the final submittal. One thing of great importance in this success story is X-TECHS internal efforts and diligence in pursuing the contract. They brought the proposal to final draft stage and then invited the NO PTAC to continue working with them. The NO PTAC made us proud to assist and to see achieved the ultimate success-a contract award. Congratulations to X-TECHS, Ltd!
